5G Drone Training Platform

Operated by 5G NUMULTIMEDIA LIMITED, the platform was presented at the Learning Technologies Expo 2023 as a demonstration of how next-generation mobile network infrastructure can be applied to vocational and technical training. The service is designed to support practical instruction in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operation, combining theoretical course material with connected training exercises that make use of low-latency 5G data transmission for real-time video and telemetry.

The platform is aimed at further education colleges, training providers and apprenticeship programmes that deliver drone-related qualifications, as well as schools introducing pupils to STEM topics involving aviation and remote-controlled systems. Typical use cases include classroom-based learning modules, supervised flight practice and assessment of operator competency.

By using 5G connectivity, the system supports remote monitoring of training sessions and the streaming of live flight data to instructors and learners.
