The platform enables presenters to embed interactive elements into slide decks, including multiple-choice polls, open-ended questions, word clouds, rating scales, and quiz competitions with leaderboards. Audience members participate by joining a session through a web browser on their own devices using a unique code or QR scan, without requiring account registration or app downloads.

Results and responses are displayed in real time on the presenter's screen, allowing immediate feedback during sessions. In educational settings, AhaSlides is used by teachers and lecturers to facilitate formative assessment, gauge student understanding, and run gamified classroom activities.

The software includes templates for icebreakers, brainstorming sessions, and Q&A segments, and supports both synchronous in-person and remote learning scenarios. Presentations can be created from scratch or imported from existing slide formats, and session data can be exported for later review and analysis.
