Blue Octopus
Description
Blue Octopus is a Moodle-based virtual learning environment used for delivering online courses, assessments, and collaborative learning activities in educational settings.
Built on the Moodle open-source learning platform with the Boost Union theme, the system supports a range of activity modules including assignments, quizzes, forums, glossaries, wikis, workshops, books, and SCORM packages. Question types available within the assessment tools include calculated, multiple choice, short answer, true/false, drag-and-drop image or marker, gap-select, matching, and essay formats.
Additional modules provide functionality for chat, surveys, feedback collection, scheduler appointments, custom certificates, and resource sharing. The platform incorporates blocks for course navigation, recent activity, online users, private files, RSS feeds, search, social activities, and learner progress tracking.
Integration capabilities include LTI enrolment, BigBlueButton and Google Meet video conferencing, H5P interactive content, and an OpenAI chat block. The environment is branded as Board360 within the site interface and is configured to support structured course delivery, learner engagement, and assessment workflows for institutions and training providers.
