The platform combines course authoring tools, a virtual classroom with live video conferencing, an assessment engine, and e-commerce functionality within one system. Users can build self-paced courses, schedule instructor-led training, deliver online tests and certifications, and manage learner enrolments through a customisable storefront.

BrainCert includes HTML5-based virtual classroom technology that supports screen sharing, interactive whiteboards, breakout rooms, and session recording, removing the need for separate web conferencing software. Additional functionality includes AI-assisted content generation, drip scheduling, discussion forums, gamification features such as badges and certificates, and integrations with payment gateways including Stripe and PayPal.

The system supports multi-tenant deployments, allowing organisations to operate branded learning portals with custom domains, and offers single sign-on, SCORM and xAPI compliance, and analytics reporting. BrainCert is used by independent course creators, corporate training departments, tutoring businesses, and educational institutions that deliver a mixture of live and on-demand learning.
