CK-12 Adaptive Practice

Developed by the CK-12 Foundation, a non-profit organisation, the Adaptive Practice tool forms part of a wider suite of free educational resources aimed at primary, secondary, and post-secondary learners. The system presents students with practice questions across topics including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science, with content aligned to curriculum standards used in various educational systems.

As students answer questions, the platform uses an adaptive algorithm to assess their level of understanding and adjusts subsequent questions to match their demonstrated ability. The tool integrates with CK-12's library of FlexBooks, which are open educational resources covering a range of academic subjects.

Teachers can assign practice activities to individual students or classes, monitor progress through reporting features, and review which concepts students have mastered or require further support with. Students receive immediate feedback on their responses, along with explanations and links to relevant reading material, video content, and interactive simulations within the CK-12 platform.

The service is accessible through a web browser and does not require payment, with accounts available for students, teachers, and parents.
