The platform enables teachers to set up classroom economies where students earn virtual currency for behaviours such as classroom participation, attendance, and meeting expectations. Students can hold classroom jobs including Banker and Store Manager, receive salaries, pay bills, and spend their savings in a digital student store.

Pre-loaded defaults for bonuses, jobs, and store items are provided, with options to customise settings to fit individual classrooms. Setup typically takes under ten minutes and requires no specialist training.

For schools and districts, the platform offers centralised administrator dashboards, unified school-wide settings, and real-time behaviour data across classrooms, year groups, and buildings. Any teacher, aide, or staff member can award classroom dollars to any student across the school environment.

Automated rostering is supported through integrations with student information systems including Clever, ClassLink, PowerSchool, and Infinite Campus. The service aligns with Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and restorative justice frameworks as a Tier 1 universal support, capturing transaction data that can inform Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.

ClassEquity is FERPA and COPPA compliant, with a free tier for individual teachers and paid plans for schools requiring administrator features and centralised reporting.
