Classroom RevivR

Developed by the British Heart Foundation (BHF), the tool guides learners through the fundamentals of recognising a cardiac arrest, calling for emergency services, and performing chest compressions. Participants use a digital device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, together with a firm cushion that acts as a substitute for a chest, allowing them to practise compression depth and rate.

The training provides real-time feedback on technique, including compression rate and hand placement, using the device's built-in sensors. Classroom RevivR is designed for use in secondary schools and supports the statutory requirement in England for first aid education, which includes basic CPR and the purpose of defibrillators.

The resource is free to access and includes teacher guidance, lesson materials, and the ability to deliver the training to a whole class simultaneously. On completion, learners receive a certificate.

The tool forms part of the BHF's wider Nation of Lifesavers campaign, which aims to increase bystander CPR rates and improve survival outcomes following out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
