Description

Counslr is a text-based online mental health support platform used for providing confidential, on-demand counselling sessions with licensed mental health professionals to employees, students, and community members.

Operating on a 24/7 basis, the platform connects users with licensed mental health professionals through text-based messaging sessions accessible via mobile devices and web browsers. Sessions are conducted privately and confidentially, with users able to initiate conversations without scheduling appointments in advance.

The service is offered to organisations including schools, universities, employers, and community groups, which sponsor access for their members rather than requiring individual users to pay directly. In educational settings, Counslr is used by institutions to supplement existing counselling and wellbeing provision, particularly outside standard working hours when on-site staff are unavailable.

The platform addresses a range of concerns including stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, academic pressures, and general mental wellbeing. Administrators at sponsoring organisations receive aggregated, anonymised usage data to inform wellbeing strategy, while individual session content remains confidential between the user and counsellor.

The service is designed to reduce barriers to accessing mental health support by removing the need for telephone or video interaction and by providing immediate access to qualified practitioners.
