The application creates an individualised work programme for each pupil based on diagnostic assessment of their current ability, adjusting the difficulty of questions in response to performance. Content covers curriculum topics including number, geometry, measurement, statistics and algebra, presented through short exercises designed for daily practice sessions of approximately ten minutes.

Pupils earn virtual rewards and stars for completing activities, and progress is tracked through a dashboard that records accuracy, streaks and topics covered. DoodleMaths is used in both home and school settings, with separate interfaces provided for parents, teachers and pupils.

The parent dashboard displays activity summaries, progress reports and suggested topics for additional practice, while the teacher portal enables class management, assignment of specific exercises and monitoring of pupil performance against curriculum objectives. The service operates on iOS, Android and web browsers, and supports offline use once content has been downloaded.

It forms part of the Doodle Learning suite, which also includes applications for English, spelling and times tables, and aligns its content with the English National Curriculum and other regional curricula.
