Part of the Pear Deck Learning suite, the platform provides a library of pre-built question types including multiple choice, drag-and-drop, graphing, equation editors, and short-response items aligned to curriculum standards. Educators can author their own assessments, draw from a shared question bank, or deploy common assessments across multiple classes, year groups, or schools.

Assessments can be assigned to individual pupils, classes, or entire institutions, with options for timed tests, password protection, and accessibility features such as text-to-speech and translation. The service includes automated marking for objective questions and tools for manual marking of written responses, alongside reporting dashboards that present pupil performance by standard, skill, or question.

Administrators at school or district level can use the platform to deploy benchmark or interim assessments at scale and compare results across cohorts. Pear Assessment integrates with learning management systems and student information systems through single sign-on providers including Google Classroom, Microsoft, Canvas, and Schoology, and is used in classroom, remote, and hybrid teaching contexts.
