FlexBooks 2.0

Built on the CK-12 Foundation's library of openly licensed content, the platform allows teachers to assemble FlexBooks by selecting chapters and sections from existing materials, adding their own text, embedding multimedia, and reorganising content to match a specific curriculum or scheme of work. Resources can include interactive simulations (PLIX), adaptive practice questions, video explanations, and real-world application examples.

Completed FlexBooks can be shared with students via a web link or assigned through a class, and are accessible across desktop and mobile browsers without requiring a paid subscription. The service is used in primary, secondary, and higher education settings, as well as for home study and self-directed learning.

Subject coverage focuses on STEM areas including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, physics, chemistry, biology, earth science, and astronomy, with additional materials in English language arts and history. Teachers can monitor student progress through built-in assessment tools, while students can interact with content through annotations, embedded questions, and linked study aids.

Because the underlying content is released under a Creative Commons licence, FlexBooks may be downloaded in formats such as PDF and ePub for offline use or further adaptation.
