Developed by South Korean company 3R Innovation, the platform applies digital phenotyping techniques that draw on data from smart device sensors to assess attention, engagement and behavioural patterns in classroom settings. The same underlying technology is positioned by the company as a research basis for monitoring indicators associated with conditions such as ADHD, anxiety and depression in young people, replacing traditional questionnaire-based assessment with passive, sensor-driven data collection.

For educational use, Focuspang provides teachers with tools to manage device usage during lessons, observe pupil activity and gather data about how students interact with learning materials on their devices. It is designed for deployment in schools that use tablets, laptops or smartphones as part of teaching, and is intended to support both classroom-based and remote or blended learning environments.
