Generative AI for Educators

Delivered as a two-hour online programme, the course is designed for teachers across all subject disciplines and requires no prior technical experience. Participants work through practical, hands-on exercises that demonstrate how generative AI can be applied to everyday classroom activities, such as drafting class correspondence, creating assessments, providing feedback, differentiating instruction for varied student needs, and developing instructional strategies.

The curriculum was developed by Google and focuses on tools including Gemini and NotebookLM. Upon completion, participants receive a certificate that may be submitted to their district or institution for professional development (PD) credit, subject to local and state requirements.

The course is currently available in English, with additional language versions in development. It forms part of the wider Grow with Google initiative, which provides a range of digital skills training resources.

A related programme, Experience AI, developed in partnership with Google DeepMind and the Raspberry Pi Foundation, offers classroom resources for introducing AI concepts to middle school students.
