The service supports rostering, single sign-on, and provisioning functions commonly required for deploying digital learning tools across institutions. The platform is used by schools, districts, and edtech vendors to manage application interoperability and data governance.

Schools can connect their existing systems and grant edtech providers controlled access to required data fields, while vendors can integrate with multiple institutions through a single connection point. GG4L originally developed as the Global Grid for Learning and has since been consolidated under the SchoolDay brand, which continues to offer the orchestration and identity services associated with the original platform.
