The platform combines adaptive diagnostic assessments with standards-based growth measures to evaluate student achievement across reading and mathematics. The Diagnostic component adjusts question difficulty based on student responses to identify skill levels across multiple domains, while Growth Monitoring tracks progress between diagnostic windows.

Additional components include Standards Mastery for assessing specific curriculum standards and Learning Games designed for younger learners. Results are presented through reports that provide information on individual student performance, classroom trends, and school-wide data.

i-Ready Assessment is developed by Curriculum Associates and is used primarily by schools and districts in the United States across grades K-12. The system generates instructional recommendations based on assessment results, which can be used to inform teaching practices and identify areas requiring intervention.

Reports are available to teachers, administrators, and families, with data displayed at student, class, school, and district levels. The assessment data can be integrated with the broader i-Ready Learning suite, which includes personalised instruction pathways and teacher-led instructional resources.
