Description

Jamf Student is a mobile application used by pupils on managed Apple devices to access classroom activities, restrictions, and learning resources assigned by their teachers through the Jamf School device management platform.

The application operates as a companion to Jamf School, the device management system used by educational institutions to administer iPads and other Apple devices. Pupils use the app to view active classroom restrictions, see which applications and websites have been made available for a lesson, and request access to additional resources.

Teachers configure these settings centrally and push them to student devices, allowing the app to display the current learning context to each pupil. Functionality includes the display of assigned classes, the ability to scan QR codes to join lessons, and visibility of device usage rules set by school staff.

The application is distributed through the Apple App Store and is intended for use on devices enrolled in a Jamf School tenant. It forms part of Jamf's wider portfolio of education technology products, which includes management consoles for IT administrators, a teacher-facing classroom control application, and content filtering tools for safeguarding pupils online.
