Description

Khan Academy Kids is a free educational application designed for children aged two to eight, providing activities and resources covering early literacy, mathematics, social-emotional learning, and creative skills.

The application contains a library of books, songs, videos, and interactive activities developed in collaboration with early learning specialists from institutions including Stanford University. Content is aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and the Common Core Standards, covering subject areas such as phonics, reading comprehension, counting, basic arithmetic, problem-solving, and logic.

The platform also includes activities focused on social-emotional development, drawing, storytelling, and motor skills practice. Khan Academy Kids uses an adaptive learning path that adjusts content based on a child's progress, with animated characters guiding learners through lessons and open-ended creative tasks.

The application is available on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire, and web browsers, and contains no advertising or in-app purchases. It is used by families at home and by educators in early years settings, with a separate teacher interface that allows assignment of activities and tracking of pupil progress across a class.

The service is operated by the Khan Academy non-profit organisation, which is based in Mountain View, California, and is funded primarily through philanthropic donations.
