Labdisc

Manufactured by Boxlight, the Labdisc integrates multiple scientific sensors into a single handheld unit, removing the need for separate probes, cables, and data loggers. Depending on the model, sensors cover variables such as temperature, pH, humidity, light, sound, motion, GPS location, voltage, and air pressure, allowing the device to be used for experiments in physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science, and geography.

Data is captured internally and can be transferred to a computer, tablet, or smartphone via USB or wireless connection for further analysis. The accompanying GlobiLab software provides tools for graphing, annotating, and analysing recorded measurements, and includes pre-prepared experiment templates aligned with curriculum topics.

The Labdisc is designed for both classroom and fieldwork use, with a rugged casing and rechargeable battery intended to support outdoor data collection. Teaching resources, lesson plans, and student worksheets are supplied alongside the hardware to support its integration into science schemes of work.
