Description

Marty the Robot V2 is a programmable walking robot used for teaching robotics and coding concepts to students through multiple programming languages including Scratch, Python, and JavaScript.

Developed by Robotical, the device features articulated legs that enable walking, dancing, and kicking movements, along with sensors and modular hardware that can be extended with additional components. The robot connects to computers and tablets via Wi-Fi and supports a progression of programming environments, beginning with block-based coding in Scratch and advancing to text-based languages such as Python and JavaScript.

Lesson materials and curriculum resources are provided to support classroom delivery across primary and secondary education. The platform is used in schools, coding clubs, and home learning environments to introduce concepts in computer science, electronics, and mechanical engineering.

Marty V2 incorporates customisable 3D-printable parts, allowing learners to design and attach their own accessories, and the open hardware design supports integration with sensors and add-on boards for project-based learning. The robot is aimed at STEM education programmes and is positioned for use in key stages covering introductory through to intermediate computing curricula.
