Description

MatataStudio Musician Add-on is an accessory pack for the Matatalab coding robot system that enables children to compose music and learn musical concepts through screen-free coding activities.

The add-on extends the functionality of the core Matatalab Coding Set by introducing music-related coding blocks, a sound module, and themed activity cards. Children place physical coding blocks representing musical notes, rhythms, and instruments onto a control board, which the robot then interprets and performs as audible music.

The kit includes blocks for various notes, tempo controls, and instrument sounds, allowing users to programme melodies and explore basic music theory concepts such as pitch, rhythm, and composition. The product is designed for children aged approximately four to nine years and is intended for use in early years and primary school settings as part of STEM and music education programmes.

It requires the base Matatalab Coding Set or compatible MatataStudio hardware to operate. Typical classroom applications include cross-curricular lessons combining computational thinking with music, group composition activities, and introductory coding exercises that do not require screens or tablets.

Educators use the kit to support computing curriculum objectives related to algorithms and sequencing alongside music curriculum objectives involving rhythm and melody.
