MatataStudio Sensor Add-on
Description
MatataStudio Sensor Add-on is a hardware accessory kit used to extend Matatalab coding robots with environmental sensing capabilities for STEM and computational thinking activities in primary education.
The accessory connects to existing Matatalab coding kits and introduces sensor-based inputs that pupils can incorporate into block-based coding sequences. Typical sensor functions include light detection, sound recognition and proximity or distance measurement, allowing the robot's behaviour to respond to changes in its physical environment.
The add-on is designed for use with the screen-free tangible coding system produced by MatataStudio, where pupils arrange physical coding blocks on a control board rather than working from a tablet or computer screen. The product is aimed at early years and primary classroom settings, supporting curriculum activities related to computing, problem-solving and introductory engineering.
Teachers use the add-on to introduce concepts such as conditional logic, event-driven programming and cause-and-effect relationships through hands-on tasks. The sensor pieces are intended to be interchangeable with other Matatalab components, enabling progression from basic sequential programming to more complex interactive projects as pupils develop their coding skills.
