MathFactLab
Description
MathFactLab is a web-based educational platform used for developing math fact fluency in elementary school students through strategy-based practice and visual reasoning models.
The platform focuses on the four basic operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division—using reasoning strategies rather than rote memorisation. Practice activities incorporate a range of visual models, including number lines, area models, bar diagrams, ten frames, dice, beads, coins, and clock faces, with the aim of building number sense alongside recall speed.
Students complete a pre-assessment that determines an individualised placement, and subsequent practice is adapted to the facts and strategies each learner needs. Teachers using the platform have access to monitoring tools that track student progress through the fact families and strategy sequences.
The service was created by classroom teachers and is offered through subscription plans aimed at individual teachers as well as schools and districts, with pilot request forms available for both audiences. MathFactLab is delivered entirely through a web browser at app.mathfactlab.com and is operated by MathFactLab, LLC.
