Description

Microsoft Reflect is a wellbeing application used for supporting students' social and emotional learning by helping them identify, express, and navigate their emotions in educational settings.

Integrated within Microsoft Teams for Education and available as a standalone web application, the platform provides a structured framework for educators to check in with students and gauge their emotional state. Teachers can create check-ins using customisable prompts, which students respond to by selecting from a range of emotions represented through characters called Feelings Monsters.

The responses can be submitted privately to the teacher or shared with the class, allowing pupils to choose their preferred level of disclosure. The application includes features designed to build emotional vocabulary, develop self-awareness, and foster empathy among learners.

Educators receive aggregated data on class responses, which can be used to identify trends, support pupils who may be struggling, and inform pastoral interventions. Microsoft Reflect also integrates with various learning management systems and offers a library of activities and resources aligned with social and emotional learning (SEL) frameworks for use across primary, secondary, and higher education settings.
