MLC Fractions

Developed by The Math Learning Center, the application provides interactive circle and bar models that allow learners to visualise fractional quantities, compare values, and explore equivalence. Users can divide shapes into equal parts, label segments, colour regions, and arrange multiple models side by side to support conceptual understanding of fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Additional drawing and annotation tools enable pupils to record their reasoning alongside the visual representations. The app is designed for use in primary and lower secondary mathematics classrooms and is accessible through web browsers, with versions also available for iOS, Android, Windows, and Chromebook devices.

It is typically used by teachers as a demonstration tool on interactive whiteboards and by pupils for individual or paired exploration of fraction concepts. The Math Learning Center provides the application without charge as part of its suite of free educational mathematics apps, which support the wider Bridges in Mathematics curriculum used in schools.
