Description
NicerTube is a web-based tool used for converting YouTube videos into distraction-free lessons with custom questions, notes, and configurable playback settings for classroom use.
The platform allows teachers to take a YouTube video URL and reformat it into a shareable lesson page that removes the standard YouTube interface elements, including suggested videos, comments, and advertisements. Lessons can be customised with background images, written notes, and questions that appear alongside or in sequence with the video content.
Completed lessons are shareable via a unique link that can be distributed to students or embedded within virtual learning environments. NicerTube is aimed at primary, secondary, and further education staff who use video as part of their teaching materials.
The service supports the creation of structured viewing activities, where pupils watch a clip and respond to embedded prompts, as well as simpler distraction-free playback for whole-class use. Features include playback controls, the ability to trim or focus on specific sections of a video, and lesson management tools for organising created content.
