Description

Ozobot is a range of small programmable robots used for teaching coding, computational thinking, and STEAM subjects to students from kindergarten through Year 8.

The product line includes two main robots: Ozobot Evo, a Bluetooth-enabled robot that supports both screen-free and screen-based programming, and Ozobot Bit, an earlier model designed for introductory coding activities. Both robots can be programmed using two distinct methods: Colour Codes, which involves drawing sequences of coloured marks on paper or screens that the robot reads through optical sensors, and OzoBlockly, a block-based visual programming environment built on Google's Blockly framework.

The platform supports progression from simple sequencing tasks for early years pupils through to more complex programming concepts including loops, conditionals, and sensor inputs for older students. Alongside the hardware, Ozobot provides classroom kits, curriculum-aligned lesson plans, printable activity mats, and professional development resources for teachers.

The educational materials cover subjects including mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies, with lessons mapped to standards such as the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards. Schools can purchase individual robots, classroom sets, or larger deployments suitable for whole-school implementation, and the company offers training programmes to support educators in integrating the robots into their teaching practice.
