Participate Learning

Founded in 1987, Participate Learning operates as a sponsor of the U.S. Department of State's J-1 Exchange Visitor Program, recruiting and placing international educators in American K-12 classrooms.

The organisation supports schools through three core programme areas: Ambassador Teachers, who are international educators placed in classrooms across multiple subject areas; Dual Language programmes, which deliver instruction in languages including Spanish and Mandarin; and Global Leaders, a framework that incorporates global competency development into the curriculum. The organisation provides participating schools with curriculum resources, professional development for teachers, and ongoing support for the international educators placed in their classrooms.

Services include visa sponsorship and compliance management for J-1 teachers, cultural orientation, mentoring, and instructional coaching. Participate Learning works with school districts, individual schools, and multi-academy networks to integrate global education into standard curricula, with the stated aim of building cross-cultural understanding and language skills among students from primary through secondary education levels.
