Description

RUCKUS Switching Solutions is a range of Ethernet switches developed by RUCKUS Networks for building wired network infrastructure in enterprise, education, and commercial environments, supporting integrated wired and wireless connectivity.

The RUCKUS ICX product family comprises fixed form-factor Ethernet switches designed for access, aggregation, and core layers of campus and branch networks. The switches support stacking, multi-gigabit and Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities, and are typically deployed alongside RUCKUS wireless access points to provide a converged wired and wireless network.

The product line includes models intended for distribution closets, small offices, and high-density environments such as schools, universities, hotels, and conference venues. Management of the switches can be carried out through the RUCKUS cloud platform, on-premises controllers, or directly via the device's own interface.

Features include network segmentation, traffic prioritisation for voice and video applications, and security controls such as access control lists and port-based authentication. In education settings, the switches are used to provide network connectivity across classrooms, halls of residence, administrative buildings, and outdoor areas, supporting devices including computers, IP telephones, IP cameras, wireless access points, and other network-attached equipment.
