Schoology

Developed originally by Schoology Inc. and acquired by PowerSchool in 2019, the platform provides a centralised online environment where teachers can create and distribute course materials, assign and grade work, and track student progress.

Functionality includes a gradebook, discussion boards, quizzes and assessments with multiple question types, file sharing, and a calendar for scheduling assignments and events. Educators can build courses using folders, pages, and embedded multimedia content, and can reuse resources across sections through templates and a personal resource library.

The system supports integration with student information systems, third-party educational applications via LTI standards, and PowerSchool's wider suite of products including its SIS and analytics tools. Parents and guardians receive dedicated accounts that allow them to monitor coursework, grades, and teacher communications.

Schoology Learning also includes group and community features that enable collaboration between staff across schools or districts, professional development course delivery, and administrative oversight tools for monitoring usage, course quality, and learner outcomes across an institution or multi-school organisation.
