The platform connects to existing school data systems and presents key metrics through pre-built dashboards covering areas such as attendance, behaviour, assessment, and finance. Dashboards are designed for use by senior leaders, governors, and trust executives, with views configured to highlight trends, exceptions, and comparisons across year groups, cohorts, or schools within a multi-academy trust.

Schools BI aggregates data from management information systems and other operational tools, processing the information so that users can review performance indicators without manually compiling reports. The service is aimed at primary schools, secondary schools, and multi-academy trusts in the United Kingdom, and includes functionality for benchmarking, trend analysis, and identifying areas requiring intervention.

Users access the dashboards through a web interface, with data refreshed on a scheduled basis.
