Screencastify

Operating as a Chrome extension and web application, the platform allows users to capture their screen, webcam, or both simultaneously, with options to record browser tabs, specific application windows, or the entire desktop. Recordings can be annotated in real time using drawing tools, and the integrated editor provides functions such as trimming, cropping, adding text, inserting captions, blurring sensitive content, and merging multiple clips.

Videos are automatically saved to Google Drive and can be exported as MP4 files, animated GIFs, or MP3 audio files. The service is used by teachers to record lessons, provide feedback on student work, and create instructional content for flipped classroom models.

Students use the tool to submit video assignments, demonstrate understanding, and complete video-based assessments.
