SketchUp Studio for Higher Education

The Studio for Higher Education package includes the desktop application SketchUp Pro, the web-based SketchUp for Web, and the iPad application, allowing modelling work to be carried out across multiple devices. Additional components bundled with the package include LayOut for producing 2D documentation and construction drawings from 3D models, Style Builder for creating custom sketch-style edge effects, and access to the 3D Warehouse model library.

The Studio tier also incorporates Trimble Connect for cloud-based collaboration and file sharing, along with Scan Essentials for working with point cloud data and V-Ray for photorealistic rendering. Licences are made available to higher education institutions for both faculty and student use, supporting coursework in disciplines such as architecture, interior design, urban planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, and product design.

The software supports importing and exporting of common CAD and 3D file formats, and includes extension capabilities through the Extension Warehouse for adding specialised functionality. SketchUp is developed by Trimble Inc., headquartered in Westminster, Colorado, United States, and the education programme operates through authorised resellers and direct purchase channels depending on the region.
