Description

ST Math: Early Learning is a PreK-2 supplemental mathematics programme that uses visual, game-based puzzles to help young learners develop conceptual understanding of foundational maths skills through spatial-temporal reasoning.

Designed for pupils in pre-kindergarten through Year 2, the programme presents mathematical concepts through interactive visual puzzles featuring JiJi the penguin, a character that guides learners through progressively challenging activities. Pupils manipulate on-screen objects to solve problems without relying on language or symbolic notation initially, allowing children who are still developing literacy skills to engage with mathematical reasoning.

The curriculum covers areas including counting, number sense, addition, subtraction, geometry, measurement, and early algebraic thinking, with content aligned to common early years and primary mathematics standards. The platform is delivered by MIND Education, a non-profit organisation based in California, and is used in schools as a supplement to core mathematics instruction.

Teachers access a dashboard that tracks individual pupil progress, identifies areas where learners are struggling, and provides reports on engagement and performance. The programme is accessible through web browsers on classroom computers and tablets, and includes features such as adjustable difficulty levels, immediate feedback on responses, and assignments that can be tailored to specific learning objectives.

ST Math: Early Learning forms part of the wider ST Math product range, which extends through Year 8.
