Description

TED-Ed is an educational platform from TED used for creating, sharing, and discovering animated video lessons and customisable learning materials for students and teachers across primary, secondary, and higher education.

Operated by the non-profit TED organisation, the platform hosts a library of short animated videos produced in collaboration with educators and animators, covering subjects such as science, mathematics, literature, history, social studies, philosophy, and the arts. Each video is paired with supporting materials including multiple-choice and open-answer questions, supplementary reading, and discussion prompts.

Teachers can use the Lessons feature to build customised learning experiences around any TED Talk, TED-Ed Original, or YouTube video, adding their own questions and resources before assigning the lesson to students and tracking responses. Additional components include the TED-Ed Student Talks programme, which provides a curriculum for schools and youth groups to help students develop and present their own ideas in the TED Talk format, and the TED-Ed Clubs initiative for extracurricular use.

The platform also offers professional development resources and a community space for educators to share teaching strategies. Content is organised by subject area, student level, and series, and the service is accessible through a web browser without requiring institutional licensing, with most resources available free of charge.
