Unique Learning System
Description
Unique Learning System is a standards-aligned special education curriculum platform used by teachers to plan lessons, deliver differentiated instruction, and track progress for students with complex learning needs.
Developed by Everway (formerly n2y), the platform provides monthly thematic instructional units covering subjects such as English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, each differentiated across multiple ability levels to accommodate learners with significant cognitive disabilities. Materials are aligned with state academic standards and include lesson plans, worksheets, interactive activities, and supplementary resources designed for use in self-contained classrooms, resource rooms, and inclusion settings.
The system incorporates assessment tools that allow teachers to monitor pupil performance against curriculum benchmarks and Individualised Education Programme (IEP) goals, with real-time progress data feeding into reporting dashboards. Additional features include symbol-supported content for non-verbal and emergent communicators, integration with related Everway products such as News-2-You and SymbolStix, and tools for generating customised instructional materials.
The platform is delivered through a web-based interface and is primarily marketed to schools and districts in the United States serving students in pre-K through post-secondary transition programmes.
