United Robotics Group

The education division of United Robotics Group focuses on supplying robotic platforms and accompanying learning materials for use in classrooms, laboratories, and research environments. The portfolio includes humanoid robots such as NAO and Pepper, which are used as teaching aids in subjects covering computer science, artificial intelligence, human-robot interaction, and programming.

The robots support multiple programming environments and languages, including Python and block-based coding tools, allowing them to be used with students at different educational levels from primary schools through to postgraduate research. United Robotics Group provides curriculum resources, software development kits, and technical support for educational institutions deploying its robots.

The robots are used in applications such as introducing pupils to coding concepts, demonstrating machine learning principles, conducting research into social robotics, and supporting special educational needs (SEND) provision. The company is the result of a consolidation of European robotics businesses, including the former SoftBank Robotics Europe operations, and is headquartered in Bochum, Germany, with additional offices across Europe.
