VEX GO
Description
VEX GO is a classroom STEM and robotics education kit used for introducing primary school pupils to engineering, coding, and computational thinking through hands-on construction and programming activities.
Designed for use with pupils typically aged between 8 and 11, the system comprises a set of plastic construction components, motors, sensors, and a programmable Brain unit that can be assembled into a range of pre-defined or pupil-designed robots. Pupils program their builds using VEXcode GO, a block-based coding environment compatible with tablets, Chromebooks, Windows, and Mac devices, with progression pathways available for learners moving towards text-based languages such as Python.
The kits are non-metal and tool-free, allowing construction without screwdrivers or specialist equipment. VEX GO is supported by a library of free curriculum materials hosted on the VEX Library, which includes structured STEM Labs containing lesson plans, pupil-facing activities, teacher guidance, and assessment rubrics aligned with curriculum standards.
Topics covered include simple machines, mechanical engineering, coding fundamentals, environmental science, and mathematics. The platform is used in primary schools, after-school clubs, and as part of the VEX IQ and VEX Robotics Competition pathway, providing an entry point for younger pupils into wider robotics competitions and continuing STEM study.
VEX GO is produced by VEX Robotics, part of Innovation First International.
