xSEL labs

The platform provides a suite of standardised assessment instruments designed to evaluate social-emotional skills across different age groups, including self-report surveys for students and observational rating scales for teachers. Assessments cover competencies such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making, aligned with established SEL frameworks.

Results are presented through reports that allow educators to identify individual student needs, track progress over time, and inform classroom interventions or whole-school SEL programmes. xSEL Labs is used by schools, districts, and educational researchers to gather data on student wellbeing and social-emotional development.

The system supports administration of assessments online, with tools for managing rosters, distributing surveys, and aggregating results at classroom, school, or district level. Reporting features include individual student profiles and group-level analytics intended to support data-informed decisions about SEL curriculum and student support services.

The assessments are based on research conducted at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and other academic institutions.
